Strength Tracker: Program Tracking for Beginner Weight Lifting App Reviews

32 add

Great idea but lacks flexibility.

What it does it does well but having the ability to add remove sets and add a few more basic exercises ( or even placeholders) would be helpful. The a b split is good for me but others may want a four day split. Ive wanted an app like this for awhile but Im disappointed it fell a little short.

Doesnt work1

The screen shots look great, but the app asks for my starting weight and then doesnt give me a keyboard. Tried reinstalling, restarting my iPhone, and nothing changes. So I couldnt get past that first screen. Tried writing their support email, but the email bounced. So I guess support jumped ship? Or else they are flooded with email about the same issue. Anyway. Review is withheld until they get this fixed. But if it doesnt happen soon I hope I get my money back. Its a matter of principle, not 99 cents.

Does not work

Keyboard wont show up on starting screen which prevents any further use of the app. They basically stole .99$ from me.

Completely broken

Has not been updated for iOS 8, and is unusable.

Crashes after the timer elapses.

Looks like a good app. However, it crashes after the timer elapses when you hit the "done" button. As such no information is saved. Of little use in current state.

The app doesnt work

This app has never worked for me! I want my money back. Countdown timer after first set is just a timer to let you know when the app is going to crash after hitting the done button. BTW, its 3 minutes.

Best SS App

This is the best Starting Strength App period. Tried them all. Great design, keeps track of your progress, auto increments, tells what size plates for each side of the bar, etc. One note...Please add the ability to lock the screen when using the app! Thanks!

Straightforward and works well!

Love it

Looks nice but...

It needs a way to view past workouts, edit or skip a warm up set, and delete PRs.

Great app

I love how it calculates the warmup sets for you and tells you how much weight to put on each side. I wish it had a feature for viewing historical data and for deadlifting both days.

My favorite Starting Strength App

I love the look and feel of this app. It takes a lot of the complexity of SS out of the equation and makes Starting Strength easy to follow. I especially like the built in rest timers and auto deloads. Great app!

Great, but why landscape only?

Really easy to track your lifts if using the Starting Strength program. My only issue is that this app is landscape only. Makes no sense to me, why make it more difficult to log lifts by rotating my phone if I want to log something?

Great app

Ill be honest, not only is this a good powerlifting app, it is currently the ONLY good powerlifting app. I look forward to a lot of use out of this purchase... and I hope it starts a new trend in apps! Im tired of every "exercise app" being for calorie-counting joggers. Well done!

Love this app!

It is easy to use, even for a mom like me that do the workouts alone, the videos explain everything you need to know. Feeling stronger!!!

Not user friendly

Logging lifts or adding exercises is not simple.

Simple yet effective

Excellent app. Ive compared it to other weightlifting trackers and the recommended warmup, weights on each side of the barbell, incremental increases, timer between sets, etc. with this app are the best and easiest to use in the gym by far. Not as customizable as other programs, but great for starting strength. Two potential enhancements: - Ability to add accessory exercises like dips and pull/chin-ups. - Ability to store a complete history of completed workouts. - A graph that depicts progress over time, similar to myfitnesspals weight tracker.

A good start

Does what it says on the tin, but a little more polish would go a long way. For example: - a timer without a notification or sound means using another app or keeping phone out between sets - Touch targets are difficult to hit on the iPhone - a portrait view would be my preference over landscape - no way to re-arrange or skip between exercises when the gym is crowded - no way to skip or configure the warm-up sets - Support email doesnt work

Nice

I like having warm-up sets spelled out with bar loads. Would like to have the ability to track fractional weights. There is no way, for example, to track 87 or 87.5 lbs if you are using that as a fractional increment between 85 and 90. The app just rounds to the closest 5 lbs. As an older guy, Ive found I can make better progress with fractional weight increments (I use 1-lb bat weights on the bar), but I have to keep track in my head.

App not working

Wont let me add my weight at the home screen. App just freezes. Customer service email doesnt work.

Does not work on iOS 8

Number entry doesnt work on iOS 8 so app is unusable. Also, no portrait mode. No workout customization. I dont do clean or snatch yet but cant make my A and B workouts finish with deadlift. Otherwise I really like the warmup set calculator.
